Guess I'll go eat worms.

The need to consistently remind myself - this is a process and not to take it all too literally and stay focused on the fact this is side effects and not let it destroy me.

Prednisone The Saga Continues

Here is a list of the wonderful things I am dealing with now.

  • Headaches- anytime for any length of time

  • Random cramps and spasms from the knees down in both legs into my feet

  • Small sores appearing for no reason randomly on my body

  • I gained 5lbs in one week

  • Apathy- not really caring about anything

  • Sad- My joy has disappeared

  • Fatigue

  • Sleep is sporadic but not too bad with the sleeping powder and Melatonin I get a few hours at night in a row and I might be up for an hour before I get another few hours. Naps during the day help even it out.

  • Anxiety- fingernails are gone, the constant need to remind myself to calm down

  • Foggy head/ brain not connecting. Finding words or connecting thoughts is a challenge

  • Generally feeling bad. It is like you are feeling a cold or flu coming on and feel crappy.

I am now down to 17.5mg of Prednisone and will start Azathioprine next week .The goal is to stop the Prednisone and only take Azathioprine. Azathioprine takes about 4-6 weeks to get in your system so by that time I should be off the Prednisone. Wonder what Azathioprine will bring to the table?

My blood work looks good and hopefully will stay that way.
