Lifestyle changes are a fact of life for me. I’m very fortunate to have a partner that is willing to live this lifestyle with me.

My husband is English and likes to have a bit of fun and is a bit cheeky. So, I have given myself a nickname for when I am experiencing Prednisone fall out, I refer to myself as Bunny, a take on my Psycho Bunny ballcap. Now I can issue warnings “Just wanted to let you know Bunny is having a cup of coffee 😉 so things might go a bit Pete Tong!” –

When living with a weekend immune system, you have to take precautions. The routine most people followed during Covid is my lifestyle. I try and limit social activities to smaller groups and avoid large crowds. When going to the shopping I wipe down the cart completely. I carry hand sanitizer and sanitation wipes with me at all times and keep it in the car. I also carry a mask in my purse just in case I am in a situation where I can see that someone near me is sick. I continuously wash my hands and anything I come in contact with. Luckily I love to cook and I’ve learned to make dinnertime a special occasion at home and create reciepes that cater to me.

I currently work with three doctors. I have my primary care physician, I have my liver specialist and I also work with a functional medicine doctor. It has taken some time, years in fact, to put together a group of doctors that I trust. If your doctors re not listening to you, then you need to find another one.

Along with these doctors a physical therapist and Psychologist round out my current care.

Side effects of the Medications are intense. Prednisone and an anti-inflammatory medications are typically used to treat chronic illness. They suppressing the immune system and blood cells that cause inflammation and have many dire side effects. There is more on this in an earlier blog.
